ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s basketball team kicks off conference play Wednesday night, hosting San Jose State to begin a four-game homestand at The Pit. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network and the Lobo Radio Network.

New Mexico (6-2) returns home after securing third place at the Acrisure Classic in Palm Springs. The Lobos narrowly lost to Arizona State 85-82 in the semifinals but bounced back with an 83-73 victory over USC in the consolation game. Donovan Dent recorded his third double-double of the season against USC, scoring 17 points and adding 11 assists. He is the only player in the nation averaging at least 18.0 points and 8.0 assists per game.
San Jose State (4-5) enters the game on a three-game winning streak, having defeated UTEP, UNC Greensboro, and Long Beach State at the Ball Dawgs Classic in Las Vegas. Josh Uduje, a transfer from Utah State, leads the Spartans with an average of 15.7 points per game.
The Lobos hold a 15-10 record in Mountain West openers, including a perfect 10-0 at The Pit. They also lead the all-time series with San Jose State 21-5, boasting an 11-1 record at home, and have won the last three meetings.
The homestand continues Saturday with the Rio Grande Rivalry against New Mexico State, tipping off at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the matchup are also available at GoLobos.com/tickets.
