Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts reached an MVP level of performance during the 2022 season, but he faced setbacks in 2023. A key factor in his success in 2022 was offensive coordinator Shane Steichen, who was absent last season after taking the head coaching role with the Indianapolis Colts. Hurts noticeably missed Steichen’s influence. Moving into the 2024 season, the Eagles will be led by new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

In his previous roles with the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Chargers, Kellen Moore has showcased his offensive prowess. Philadelphia Eagles fans are hopeful that Moore can help Jalen Hurts regain the MVP-level form he displayed two years ago.

WIP’s Howard Eskin made a bold claim about Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts before the start of the 2024 season. He said:
“I think he needs to have a good year or they’re going to Carson Wentz him if he doesn’t have a good year. He’s got to have a good year and he can’t make excuses.”
Jalen Hurts, aged 25, is currently under contract with the Philadelphia Eagles for several more years. Last season, he completed 65.4% of his passes for 3,858 yards, with 23 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Additionally, Hurts rushed for 605 yards on 157 carries, scoring 15 touchdowns and averaging 3.9 yards per carry.
Hurts was selected in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft from Oklahoma. He initially started the final four games of his rookie season after head coach Doug Pederson benched quarterback Carson Wentz due to his performance.
Following his rookie season starts, it became clear that Hurts was the future, leading to Carson Wentz being traded to the Indianapolis Colts the subsequent offseason.
As of now, Kenny Pickett serves as the backup quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles.
