His career started with the Rabbitohs in 2004.
Former NRL forward Yileen Gordon has announced his retirement from rugby league, capping off a career that began in 2004 with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Gordon played his final match on Friday night against the Penrith Panthers in the NSW Cup. Over the years, his career included stints with three NRL teams, and he played a pivotal role in helping the Rabbitohs secure the NSW Cup title last season.
Gordon made his debut for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2005, where he played 34 games from 2004 to 2008. He then moved to the Canterbury Bulldogs, adding another 34 appearances over two seasons (2009-10).
His final NRL season was in 2011 with the Penrith Panthers, where he played three matches. Gordon briefly revived his NRL career three years later with the Wests Tigers but was released from his train and trial contract after an off-field incident.
Since then, Gordon continued to play rugby league in local competitions and the NSW Cup. Known for his hard-running and explosive style, Gordon eventually returned to the Rabbitohs’ NSW Cup team, where he made significant contributions before deciding to retire from the game.
