Leeds United is reportedly eyeing a move to sign Sheffield United striker Daniel Jebbison on a free transfer this summer, as his contract is nearing its expiration. The Whites are strategically mapping out their efforts to secure promotion from the Championship after losing in the playoff final in May. Strengthening Daniel Farke’s squad with key transfers, particularly in crucial positions, is seen as essential to ensure their ability to sustain a promotion push this season.

Journalist Graeme Bailey reports that Leeds is eyeing a free transfer move for Sheffield United striker Daniel Jebbison. The 20-year-old’s contract expires this summer following Sheffield United’s relegation to the Championship, making him a potential target for Leeds. Although Sheffield United has offered Jebbison a new deal, Leeds’ technical director, Gretar Steinsson, is reportedly keen on securing his signature.

Leeds United faces competition in their pursuit of Daniel Jebbison.

Leeds United faces stiff competition for the 6ft3in striker, with four Premier League clubs—Brighton, Everton, Leicester City, and Ipswich Town—reportedly interested. Additionally, European clubs such as Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, and Monaco are also named as contenders for his signature.

According to Capology, the young player earns £4,000 per week as his contract nears its end. Any team that signs him will likely have to pay a compensation fee since he is younger than 23 and Sheffield United has offered him a new deal.

Jebbison could provide valuable depth to Leeds’ attacking options.

If we aim for consistency in striker performance throughout the season, we require additional depth and players who fit the desired profile. While Patrick Bamford has been reliable, his injury history makes it challenging to rely solely on him during tough times. Hence, acquiring another sturdy striker with a strong physical presence is crucial.

Although Jebbison hasn’t had a standout performance at Sheffield United since his breakthrough, at 20 years old and standing at 6ft3in, he fits the ideal striker mold for our team. Signing him for just a compensation fee would be a smart move for us.
