Noel Egan is surprised that Aston Villa have allowed Kaine Kesler Hayden to join Preston North End on a season-long loan.

The former FIFA official and lifelong Aston Villa fan suggests that the recent loan move of Hayden to Preston North End might indicate that Matty Cash, who has been linked with an exit, is expected to stay at Villa. Villa’s official website confirmed Hayden’s loan move to Preston on Wednesday, August 7. Egan, in an exclusive interview with Villa News, expressed surprise at the loan decision but noted that fans view Hayden as a promising talent. Egan added that the Villa supporters are quite enthusiastic about the young player’s potential.

“However, since we currently have three right-backs, keeping Matty Cash could explain why Hayden has been loaned out again.”

The speculation is that Aston Villa might keep Matty Cash while selling Kaine Kesler Hayden, who will be on his fifth loan move.

Therefore, Villa supporters have had plenty of opportunities to catch a glimpse of Hayden’s performances, those performances have just been elsewhere.

With the right-back now 21, Unai Emery will need to decide on where Hayden’s long-term future lies.

If the youngster is going to continue to be sent out on loan after loan, then a permanent transfer might be the best solution for all parties involved.

However, if Cash is to be sold at some point in the near future, an opportunity could arise for Hayden to finally make a name for himself in the West Midlands.
