Auburn football’s Payton Thorne is ready to put his interception against Oklahoma in the rearview.

Payton Thorne delivered his best performance of the season in Week 5, completing 21-of-32 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns. Despite Auburn’s loss, Thorne is likely to start again when the Tigers face Georgia on October 5. However, he continues to reflect on his costly interception late in the game.

“It doesn’t make any sense, right? Like, why the hell would you do that? I agree with that,” Thorne said, according to Peter Rauterkus of AL.com. “I look back on the play, and I did what my plan was and what we had talked about during the week. And like I said, it’s just a tough situation, and it stinks.”

Although the interception came at an unfortunate time, as Thorne was solidifying his position as Auburn’s starting quarterback, there’s no reason to think he won’t bounce back and redeem himself.
