Auburn’s passing game got a significant lift on Wednesday as wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who led Penn State in receiving last season, committed to join the Tigers.

Lambert-Smith announced his decision on social media, which Auburn reposted. He entered the transfer portal on April 15 after departing from team activities at Penn State towards the end of spring practice. The Norfolk, Virginia native topped Penn State’s receiving charts with 53 receptions for 673 yards and four touchdowns in the 2023 season.

Lambert-Smith’s addition is significant for an Auburn offense that ranked 121st nationally in passing last season and returns only one wide receiver who recorded 10 or more receptions in 2023 (tight end Rivaldo Fairweather, who led the team with 38 receptions). Auburn has bolstered its receiving corps with notable incoming freshmen, including Cameron Coleman, ESPN’s No. 5 overall recruit in the 2024 class, and Perry Thompson, a top-60 prospect.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 184 pounds, Lambert-Smith has started portions of the past four seasons for Penn State and holds a place in the team’s top 20 for career receptions (116) and receiving yards (1,598). He will bring one year of eligibility with him to Auburn.
