Hull FC has officially announced that Yusuf Aydin has joined the club on a permanent basis. This deal involves Jack Brown leaving the Black and Whites to join Hull KR.

Aydin, who was previously on loan from Hull KR, has now signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, committing him to the MKM Stadium until the conclusion of the 2026 season.

The 23-year-old Turkish international, who has recently made two appearances on loan with the club against Leeds and Warrington, brings valuable experience to the Airlie Birds’ forward lineup. Having progressed through the Wakefield Trinity academy and debuted in 2020, Aydin has accumulated 54 senior appearances.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the permanent deal with Hull FC, Aydin stated, “I’m really looking forward to staying with Hull FC on a permanent deal. Right from the get-go, everyone made me feel so welcome and not once did I feel out of place. Simon [Grix] and Richie [Myler] were keen to bring me to the club, and that gave me so much confidence. I’m very grateful for the opportunity and I want to be able to repay them for their faith in me.”

Eager to contribute fully to the club, Aydin added, “I’m really eager now to give my all for this club, and I look forward to playing in the famous Black & White colors in front of a really passionate, loyal group of supporters.”

As part of the agreement, Hull FC has confirmed the departure of forward Jack Brown, who has signed for Hull KR.

Since his debut in 2019, Brown has amassed 73 senior appearances for the Black & Whites. The club has expressed gratitude to Brown for his contributions over the past five-and-a-half seasons and wished him the best for his future endeavors.

Richie Myler, Hull FC’s Director of Rugby, commented on the developments, stating, “We’re delighted to have finalized Yusuf’s permanent move to us. His dedication over the past two weeks has demonstrated a genuine desire to compete and contribute to what we’re building here. We’d also like to extend our best wishes to Jack as he begins a new chapter with Hull KR, and we thank him for his dedication to the Black & Whites.”

Jack Brown expressed his excitement about his return to Hull KR in an interview with hullkr.co.uk, stating, “I’m buzzing. Coming early wasn’t something I expected but it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. Willie (Peters) sold me the club straight away. Hull KR is in a great spot and hopefully that continues. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in with the boys and learning all I can to develop my own game and help the team.”

Reflecting on the sentimental aspect of his move, Brown mentioned the feeling of completing a “full circle” after growing up as a Hull KR fan in the Wow Hydrate East Stand: “Most of my family are Rovers fans. I remember coming to watch Hull KR and standing in the East Stand with them, and now with the move, it feels things have come full circle.”

Hull KR Head Coach, Willie Peters, expressed his satisfaction with Brown’s arrival, saying, “We’re pleased to welcome Jack (Brown) to our club. Jack was a local junior and comes from a family of Hull KR fans. We’re glad we’ve had the opportunity to welcome Jack back home.”

“Jack is a young front-rower with his prime years ahead of him. He showcases impressive footwork and a potent offload game, making him a challenging player to contain with the ball. Defensively, Jack brings aggression and has significant potential to further enhance his game. I’m excited to collaborate with Jack as he continues to develop during his time at Hull KR over the next two and a half years and beyond.”

Peters also acknowledged the departure of Yusuf Aydin, who is joining Hull FC on loan for the remainder of the 2024 Betfred Super League Season: “I’d like to extend my gratitude to Yusuf Aydin for his contributions to the club over the past 18 months. Yusuf has been a valuable teammate and a pleasure to coach. We wish him all the best for his future endeavors.”
