Caitlin Clark consistently presents herself well in front of WNBA media and fans. However, she often has difficulty hiding her emotions while playing for the Indiana Fever.

It’s easy to discern the No. 1 overall pick’s true feelings toward head coach Christie Sides and her teammates, especially when she is frustrated.

Caitlin Clark has been under constant scrutiny over the past two years, especially since she and Iowa lost to Angel Reese and LSU in the 2023 national championship. Despite the intense attention and criticism, Clark rarely gives her detractors reason to fault her. Her interviews are always gracious, and she consistently takes the high road, remaining unfazed by the drama.

For Clark, basketball is the only thing that matters.

However, there have been multiple instances where the 22-year-old has revealed her true feelings. She has complained about head coach Christie Sides, appeared unimpressed by a late-game play call at the end of a loss to the Sun, and picked up a few technical fouls for talking back to opponents.

Most recently, Clark seemed fed up with teammate Kristy Wallace. Wallace, her backcourt counterpart, has struggled as a shooter this year, averaging 5.6 points per game on less than 40% shooting and under 30% from beyond the arc, with her numbers dipping even further lately.

During Indiana’s loss to Chicago on Sunday, Wallace pulled up for a three-pointer. Despite the shot going in, Clark was visibly frustrated, likely with the shot selection.

We don’t know exactly what Clark was upset about, but it’s easy to draw a conclusion. Perhaps the play was designed differently, or Wallace was not supposed to shoot.

Regardless of the reason, Clark’s true emotions were evident in her expression. She was clearly fed up with Wallace, likely wanting the ball in the hands of a more confident shooter, or her own.
