The Bears now boast a quarterback who consistently engages online with responses.
Following an impressive initial day of OTAs for Caleb Williams, the rookie quarterback for the Chicago Bears, his performance on the second day didn’t quite measure up.
Caleb Williams reportedly faced difficulties during the Chicago Bears’ OTAs on Day 2. What’s important to grasp is that Williams is a rookie, experiencing NFL-level competition for the first time. Considering the caliber of the Chicago Bears’ secondary, Williams is up against formidable opponents at every turn.
His struggles during the second practice session were somewhat expected, especially since he was without two of his top three receivers, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze. Even if they had been present and Williams had still struggled, it’s part of the learning curve.
As the saying goes, “Iron sharpens iron,” and facing challenges in practice is far preferable to encountering them on a Sunday night against a divisional rival later in the season.
Practice, particularly in May, provides the opportunity to iron out these mistakes. With Shane Waldron joining the Chicago Bears this offseason, the offense is adapting to a new system alongside a fresh roster of players. Caleb Williams is just one of the newcomers, alongside Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, Gerald Everett, D’Andre Swift, and others. The influx of new faces means it may take time for everyone to synchronize.
Despite facing criticism on social media for his struggles during Day 2 of the Chicago Bears’ OTAs, Caleb Williams, known for his outspokenness online, didn’t hesitate to respond.
