Cody Walker has been sidelined for South Sydney’s round 12 showdown against the Eels due to a calf injury.

The five-eighth, who was vying for a spot in the NSW squad, won’t be taking the field on Saturday night, dealing a significant blow to his State of Origin aspirations.

Walker’s absence means that Jack Wighton and Dion Dion Teaupa will form a fresh halves partnership for the Rabbitohs, who currently sit at the bottom of the ladder.
