Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville, the two most significant sales among Leeds United’s seven transfers this summer, have left the club. Daniel Farke has shared his thoughts on their exits.
The 49ers have had to sell several high-profile players and conduct what feels like a clearance sale due to their failure to achieve promotion last season and previous large expenditures.
Crysencio Summerville is the latest departure, moving to West Ham on a five-year contract for an initial £25 million. Archie Gray has transferred to Tottenham for £40 million, while Glen Kamara, Diego Llorente, Marc Roca, and Charlie Cresswell have also left.
Leeds United has generated approximately £80 million in sales this summer, while they have only invested around £15 million in new acquisitions, including Joe Rodon, Jayden Bogle, and Alex Cairns. Joe Rothwell has joined Leeds on a loan deal from AFC Bournemouth.

Gray and Summerville have both found ideal new clubs where they can thrive.
Gray needed a team that believes in youth and offers ample playing time, and Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou will provide him with the opportunities to grow and showcase his talent. With regular Europa League fixtures, Spurs are well-positioned to integrate Gray into their lineup, making North London an excellent destination for him.
Summerville, on the other hand, required a prominent club where his strong personality and love for the spotlight could flourish. West Ham offers him that stage, and although it might take him a few weeks to establish himself, he has chosen well with his move from Leeds.
