Leeds United are preparing to spend £5 million on their fourth summer signing, with a medical scheduled for this morning.

So far, Leeds United have signed three new players this transfer window: Joe Rodon, Alex Cairns, and Joe Rothwell, all of whom have joined the team at Elland Road. Rodon and Rothwell played in Leeds’ first pre-season match against Harrogate Town on Friday, with Rothwell demonstrating his potential for the upcoming season. Cairns has come back to Leeds after nine years away, taking over as Daniel Farke’s third-choice goalkeeper from Kristoffer Klaesson. Despite these additions, more signings are needed, as highlighted by the lack of depth on Leeds’ bench in their recent game.

Jayden Bogle is nearing a move to Leeds United, who have identified four key areas for improvement this summer. It seems they are about to address one of those priorities. The right-back position is especially urgent, given that Leeds have already lost Archie Gray, Connor Roberts, and Jamie Shackleton from last season’s squad.

According to John Percy of the Daily Telegraph, Jayden Bogle is scheduled to have a medical at Leeds today as he prepares to complete his transfer from Sheffield United.

A fee of approximately £5 million has reportedly been agreed upon between the two clubs, which is considered a good deal given Bogle’s experience. Sheffield United had originally sought £7 million, and after Leeds’ initial offers of £3 million were rejected, the clubs have settled on a middle ground. If the medical goes smoothly, Bogle is expected to join Leeds’ pre-season tour in Germany.
Signing a player like Bogle from a potential promotion rival sends a strong message from Leeds United. With some fans expressing concerns on social media about the limited transfer activity, this deal addresses a crucial position where Leeds were notably lacking. Bogle is one of the top options in the league for that role, and his arrival is expected to be the first of several moves before Leeds’ season opener against Portsmouth next month.
