HITC reports that Tottenham Hotspur are advancing in negotiations with Bournemouth regarding Dominic Solanke.
The 26-year-old striker Dominic Solanke has a £65 million release clause in his contract, which is only available to the ‘Big Six’ Premier League clubs.
HITC reports that Tottenham Hotspur are willing to meet this release clause but prefer to arrange the payment in installments rather than a single lump sum.
Although Bournemouth were not expecting to lose Solanke this summer, Spurs are actively pursuing the transfer. Solanke was notably left out of Bournemouth’s recent pre-season match against Rayo Vallecano.
Solanke had an impressive season last year, scoring 21 goals across all competitions, and was described as “deadly” by Scott Parker on Sky Sports.
Chelsea, Solanke’s former club, also has interest in him but is currently focused on talks regarding Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion and is also considering a move for Victor Osimhen.
Tottenham Hotspur, under manager Ange Postecoglou, have highlighted the need for a new striker as a priority. Postecoglou acknowledged the squad’s current thinness in this area, stressing its importance.
In addition to Dominic Solanke, HITC confirms that Tottenham has also identified Santi Gimenez, Jonathan David, and Ivan Toney as potential targets this summer.
Sources have confirmed to HITC that the acquisition of a new striker by Tottenham Hotspur is not contingent on the potential departure of Richarlison.
While Spurs are open to selling Richarlison this summer, with interest from the Saudi Pro League, they ideally aim to recoup the £60 million they invested in him in 2022.
