Newcastle United are interested in signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, but the situation might not be as advanced as some Newcastle fans might hope.
The England defender’s stock rose significantly during the Euros, attracting interest from several English clubs. Newcastle United, in particular, have reportedly initiated discussions to sign Guehi, aiming to secure a major signing before the new season begins.
Newcastle’s pursuit comes amid claims that Liverpool have withdrawn from the race for Guehi. However, according to Fabrizio Romano, while Newcastle’s interest is genuine, the situation is not as advanced as some might believe.
Marc Guehi’s potential move to Newcastle remains a possibility, but there hasn’t been a formal bid yet. Fabrizio Romano discussed the situation on his YouTube channel, noting that while Newcastle’s interest in Guehi is genuine, the deal is not advanced at this stage.
Romano said, “Newcastle have indeed inquired about Marc Guehi and approached Crystal Palace directly. However, as of now, there hasn’t been a formal bid from Newcastle. Crystal Palace is likely to ask for around £60-65 million for Guehi. It won’t be an easy deal, but the interest is real and there could be progress in the future.”
