Safety Daniel Scott will miss the entire 2024 campaign due to a torn Achilles.

Indianapolis Colts safety Daniel Scott will miss his sophomore season after rupturing his Achilles during practice last week, head coach Shane Steichen announced. Scott, drafted in the fifth round by the Colts in 2023 at No. 158 overall, is facing his second consecutive season-ending injury. Last offseason, he tore his ACL during OTAs, which prevented him from playing in his rookie season.

Scott, 25, entered the NFL with five years of collegiate experience and was older than most rookies. During his college career, he amassed 207 tackles, seven interceptions, and three forced fumbles.

With his special teams experience in college, Daniel Scott was poised to make an immediate impact in that area while gradually working his way up to a consistent role in the defense. Given that Indianapolis’ secondary struggled last season, Scott had a genuine opportunity to become a difference-maker and earn defensive snaps this season.

The Colts’ safety roster also features Julian Blackmon, Nick Cross, Rodney Thomas II, Trevor Denbow, and Marcel Dabo. Unfortunately, Scott will have to watch his team from the sidelines for another year, postponing his chance to take his first NFL snap.
