Cheltenham Town manager Michael Flynn praised Bakare, saying, “The most impressive thing about Ibrahim is that he had offers from other places but chose to come to us. He’s the right age for the club and aligns with our vision. He’s very aggressive and athletic, and I believe he has the potential for a great career if he maintains his commitment and work ethic.”

Bakare previously played for Morecambe and Cardiff City, where he captained the Under-23s on several occasions. Most recently, he was with Vancouver FC in the Canadian Premier League.

In addition to a loan spell at Lancaster City during his time with Morecambe, Bakare has experience playing non-league football with Weymouth, Kettering Town, Macclesfield, and Cheshunt.

London-born Bakare now becomes Cheltenham’s 15th new signing of the summer. The new League Two season begins with a home match against Newport County AFC on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
