Hailing from Flower Mound, Texas, Evers was a highly touted 4-star recruit in high school, ranked as the No. 137 overall prospect and the No. 8 quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class by 247Sports. He showcased his skills at events like the All-American Bowl and the Elite 11 Finals before embarking on his collegiate journey at OU.

Before joining the Sooners’ 2022 recruiting class, Evers had initially committed to Florida in March 2021, but he decommitted from the Gators on December 7, 2021. Shortly after, he pledged his commitment to Jeff Lebby and the Sooners less than a week later. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall, Evers brings considerable talent and potential to his new team at Connecticut.

As part of Brent Venables’ inaugural recruiting class as OU’s head coach, Evers played a role in securing the commitment of 4-star wide receiver Jayden Gibson to Norman.

Evers spent the 2022 season at Oklahoma before opting to enter the transfer portal and eventually transferring to Wisconsin. During his true freshman year, Evers saw limited action, appearing in just one game. His lone appearance came against Texas, where he entered the game with the Sooners trailing 49-0 and threw one pass.

During his single season with the Badgers, Evers didn’t see any game action, serving as a backup to fellow former Oklahoma quarterback Tanner Mordecai. Now, Evers aims to compete for a starting role at UConn, a team that posted a 3-9 record in 2023 under head coach Jim Mora.

Evers is among six players from OU’s 2022 high school recruiting class who have departed from the program. This group includes Alton Tarber, Jason Llewellyn, Cedric Roberts, Jamarrien Burt, and Kevonte Henry.
