Cronulla Sharks utility back Siteni Taukamo has reportedly drawn interest from several clubs as his current contract expires at the end of the season. Taukamo, who made history by scoring Greece’s first-ever try in a Rugby League World Cup match, has been with the Sharks since 2020, where he captained their Harold Matthews Cup team before progressing through the ranks.

Despite his promising development, Taukamo remains without a contract for the 2025 season, opening the possibility of a move away from Australia in the near future.

According to reports from *Fox Sports*, several Super League clubs have expressed interest in signing Siteni Taukamo as his future with the Cronulla Sharks remains uncertain. Although Taukamo has not yet made his NRL debut, despite being part of the Sharks’ Top 30 roster for the past two seasons, he has been the primary fullback for their Jersey Flegg Cup team.

At just 20 years old, Taukamo has a promising future ahead of him. A potential move to the Super League could offer him more game time and valuable experience, accelerating his development and possibly paving the way for a return to the NRL in the future.

This interest in Siteni Taukamo follows the Super League’s recent easing of visa requirements for foreign players, making it simpler for NSW Cup and QLD Cup players to join the competition. Under the new rules, players aged 24 or younger who have competed in these Australian competitions can more easily secure visas to play in the United Kingdom.

With several Super League teams still having international quota spots available, Taukamo’s potential move could be facilitated by these relaxed regulations, opening up new opportunities for young talent like him to gain experience overseas.
