He has arrived

Russell Wilson has arrived for his scheduled meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting one of the top free agent quarterbacks available this offseason at their South Side practice facility this week.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, former Seahawks and Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has arrived at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex to meet with the Steelers.

Wilson has had a busy day, having held a “exploratory meeting” with the Giants on his way to Pittsburgh and is expected to meet with the Las Vegas Raiders, among others.

Wilson, a nine-time Pro Bowler who won the Super Bowl in 2013, threw for 3,070 yards, 26 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in his second season with the Denver Broncos. Denver released him earlier this week, and the Steelers quickly became a natural fit.

According to All Steelers’ Noah Strackbein, Wilson would serve as a backup and veteran mentor to Steelers 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett, the team’s only quarterback currently on the roster.

This meeting will most likely determine whether or not Wilson signs with the Steelers, as well as the future of Pittsburgh’s quarterback position.
