Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Southampton have reportedly inquired about signing former Doncaster Rovers goalkeeper Sam Johnstone from Crystal Palace.
Johnstone had two loan spells at Doncaster Rovers while developing at Manchester United, making 32 appearances for the club in both the Championship and League One.
Although he didn’t make a significant impact at Old Trafford, his performances on loan at Preston North End and Aston Villa were impressive enough to earn him the number one spot at West Bromwich Albion following a permanent transfer in 2018.

After four years at The Hawthorns, Johnstone moved to Crystal Palace in 2022. However, he seems to have fallen behind his former Manchester United teammate Dean Henderson in the pecking order at Selhurst Park.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Johnstone is considering exploring opportunities away from Crystal Palace. Leicester, Wolves, and Southampton are all believed to have inquired about the England-capped goalkeeper.
Although he’s currently in a backup role at Palace, Johnstone’s extensive experience would likely strengthen the goalkeeping departments of any of the interested clubs.
