Liverpool is the only Premier League team yet to make a signing this summer, while Brentford has added Igor Thiago for a club-record £30 million. Both teams are seeking a center-forward: Liverpool has growing concerns about Darwin Nunez, and Brentford might be preparing for Ivan Toney’s potential exit.

HITC reported in July that Atletico Madrid has joined Tottenham and Arsenal in pursuing Toney. In response, both clubs have shifted their focus to Germany, specifically targeting Maximilian Beier from Hoffenheim.

According to German outlet Sport Bild, Liverpool and Brentford have shown “concrete interest” in Maximilian Beier this summer. The 21-year-old forward is also a primary target for Borussia Dortmund, but he faces competition from the two Premier League clubs.

The report indicates that Brentford has already made a bid of €30 million (£26 million) for Beier.

Maximilian Beier is reportedly set to make a decision soon, with several offers on the table. Liverpool and their Merseyside rivals Everton have previously expressed interest, and Liverpool has re-entered the race for his signature.

Beier, known for his impressive goal-scoring ability with 16 goals in the Bundesliga last season, also boasts exceptional pace. He recorded a top speed of 35.45 km/h in the Bundesliga, surpassing all but Leroy Sane in Germany. Hoffenheim coach Pellegrino Matarazzo has praised Beier as an “animal on the pitch” in comments to Sports Illustrated.
