Liverpool is reportedly in a competitive race against Manchester United and Real Madrid to secure the signature of an exciting midfielder who has been highly praised as “something special.”

The need for an additional midfielder at Liverpool became evident last season, prompting Jurgen Klopp to make significant changes to the midfield. Players like Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and Ryan Gravenberch have contributed significantly, helping Liverpool lead the Premier League table at the start of 2024.

Despite the positive contributions, there is a desire among supporters for another No.6 midfielder. While Mac Allister and Endo have performed well, the addition of a robust defensive midfielder like Fulham’s Joao Palhinha or Kalvin Phillips has been suggested to bring stability. The interest in Federico Redondo, currently with Argentinos Juniors in Argentina, has emerged as a potential solution.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool, along with Manchester United and Real Madrid, is keen on signing the holding-midfield player Federico Redondo. The report suggests that Liverpool’s interest in Redondo is strategic, aiming to strengthen their midfield options. Klopp’s system demands versatility and stamina, making Redondo a potential “perfect fit.”

Although Redondo is untested in European football, the 20-year-old Argentina Under-23 international, and son of legendary former Real Madrid player Fernando Redondo, has gained significant attention in his homeland. Journalist Roy Nemer has praised Redondo, comparing him to his father and describing him as “something special,” suggesting that he could be an ideal addition to Liverpool’s midfield.
