The Bearcats are getting after the quarterback.

CINCINNATI — Eric Phillips has emerged as one of the national leaders in quarterback pressures through four games, tallying 14 pressures according to PFF with a pass rush grade of 66.2. Cincinnati’s top edge rusher played a pivotal role in their recent games, disrupting Miami (OH)’s offense two weeks ago and applying three pressures on Donovan Smith last Saturday.

Cincinnati needed a consistent performer on the edge, and Phillips has answered the call, recording three or more pressures in every game this season. He is leading a defense that has accumulated nine sacks, placing them 30th nationally.
