Mountainous performance from De Ligt, but this United star was truly outstanding vs Real Sociedad

Joshua Zirkzee 8 – A clinical finish from the Dutchman put his side ahead just before the hour mark, showcasing his composure in front of goal. He could have had a brace had he converted a solid opportunity earlier in the match, but his movement and hold-up play were key to his team’s offensive efforts. A promising performance overall, combining technical skill with effective link-up play.

Alejandro Garnacho 6.5 – The Argentine winger provided an assist for Zirkzee’s goal, demonstrating his creative ability in the final third. He had a few chances to score himself but was unable to convert. Despite some flashes of his usual flair, his finishing left much to be desired on the night. Still, his contribution to the team’s offensive setup is evident.

Rasmus Højlund 3 – Another disappointing performance for the young striker. Højlund struggled to make an impact, often being outmuscled by opposition defenders. His lack of physical presence and inability to threaten the goal left Manchester United’s attack lacking in potency. At the moment, he is far from the dynamic forward many hoped for, offering little throughout the match.

Casemiro 6 – One of his better games in a long time as he benefitted from Sociedad’s lack of pace and physicality in the middle of the park. A few line-breaking passes and also some good defensive contributions.

Bruno Fernandes 6 – Should have scored but his shot was blocked by a Sociedad defender. Positive with most of his actions. Conceded the penalty from which the hosts restored parity, although it appeared a harsh decision by the referee.

Patrick Dorgu 5 – Overlapped severally and kept aiming crosses into the box. Solid defensively and soldiered on after he seemed to have sustained an issue. One or two sloppy moments though.
