Shedeur Sanders' First Win at Colorado a Statement in More Ways Than One - Newsweek

When Nebraska takes the field this weekend to play Colorado, linebacker Mikai Gbayor seems to believe the Cornhuskers have a good chance of exacting payback.

On Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska will host the Buffaloes following a season-ending 36-14 loss in Colorado. Gabyor discussed the important showdown with media on Tuesday. In response to a question about how freshman Dylan Raiola’s throwing prowess has helped Nebraska’s defence get ready to face Heisman Trophy contender Shedeur Sanders, the linebacker said.

Raiola and Sanders were being compared, and Gbayor had none of it.

Dylan and Shedeur Sanders cannot be compared. According to Sam McKewon of the Fremont Tribune, Gbayor stated, “Don’t do that.” Dylan has changed as a guy. The manner in which he plays and approaches and assaults. Dylan is canine. On Saturday, you’ll see. He, this team, and the men that are blocking for him have my complete trust. All we need to do is contribute to defence.

Sanders’ ability to make throws on the run is something that Nebraska will need to prepare for, according to Gbayor, who also praised Sanders. Gbayor claimed that Raiola, a rookie, possesses traits similar to Patrick Mahomes.

“He truly is a Mahomes,” Gbayor remarked. “I see Patrick Mahomes, I see him. His mechanics, among other things.

Raiola led Nebraska to a 40-7 victory last week, going 19/28 for 238 yards and two touchdown passes. Once the former 5-star prospect completed his first touchdown pass as a college student, Mahomes even shut him out.

Although it’s clear that Gbayor’s remarks were intended more to compliment Raiola than to minimise anything Sanders has done, it wouldn’t be shocking if Colorado used them as fodder for their bulletin board come Saturday.
