Paul Rowley’s reputation continues to rise following another impressive Salford Red Devils victory, this time defeating St Helens 20-18. This win has fueled further speculation about him potentially moving to Leeds Rhinos.
The links to the coachless Leeds Rhinos have intensified since Salford Sporting Director Ian Blease confirmed his move to Headingley. However, Rowley has remained firm in his commitment to Salford.
The Salford coach has addressed this topic multiple times, including during a live interview on Sky Sports with presenter Brian Carney last week. Rowley stated, “It’s nice that I’m linked with any job, it’s a privilege and an honour. I don’t expect anything and I’m looking forward to going to training tomorrow.”
Paul Rowley’s reputation has continued to soar following another impressive victory for Salford Red Devils, defeating St Helens 20-18. This has sparked renewed speculation about a potential move to Leeds Rhinos.
With Salford Sporting Director Ian Blease confirming his switch to Headingley, links to the coachless Leeds Rhinos have grown stronger. Despite this, Paul Rowley has consistently reaffirmed his commitment to Salford.
Rowley has addressed these rumors on several occasions, including a recent live interview on Sky Sports with presenter Brian Carney. Rowley expressed, “It’s flattering to be linked with any job, but I am fully committed to Salford. There has been no contact with Leeds, so these discussions are purely hypothetical.”
Reflecting on his conversation with Carney during a BBC Radio Manchester interview, Rowley commented, “Brian caught me off guard last week, but I appreciate direct questions. I have no issue with that. I believe in honesty and transparency.”
Rowley emphasized, “To clarify, there is no truth to the rumors linking me with Leeds. It’s all speculative and unfounded.”
It seems Paul Rowley’s position on remaining with Salford Red Devils remains unchanged, despite ongoing speculation about Leeds Rhinos. However, during an interview with BBC Radio Manchester after his team’s impressive victory over St Helens, Rowley did humorously mention one job that could entice him away.
“When the Leeds questions finally came up, it took you seven minutes,” Rowley exclaimed, indicating he’s become accustomed to such inquiries.
In a light-hearted moment, Rowley joked about a hypothetical scenario, stating, “If the Miami Dolphins want a defensive coach, I’ll tell you now, I’m going. I am going. I’m not hiding that fact. I want some sunshine.”
This comment highlights Rowley’s sense of humor and his clear focus on his current role with Salford, despite playful speculation about other potential opportunities.
“Other than that, it’s like, well, you could say it about anybody.”
Rowley did elaborate further on the links to other clubs and acknowledged that it was a compliment to everyone involved at Salford Red Devils. However, he reiterated his commitment to staying with the club and seeing through their ongoing project.
He stated, “Well, it’s a compliment to everybody, it’s a compliment to the players that we’ve got, and it’s a compliment, and I’ll say it again, to Kurt and Krisnan because they prepare this team, I manage this team, and so we work better together as a trio. It’s three equal parts contributing equally, and then the players themselves dictate what we do on the field.”
“We manage and control it, adjust and maintain the good elements. Kal and Sneydy serve as leaders and senior players, and we’re discovering what strategies work best for them.”
