Anthony Solometo’s return to the mound for Low-A Bradenton was closely watched, especially given his status as a top left-handed pitching prospect for the Pirates. Despite allowing three runs in 3.2 innings, it’s good to see him back in action after his time on the Development List. The Marauders’ loss highlights their struggles both on the mound and at the plate.

On a more positive note, Triple-A Indianapolis continues to impress with their offensive firepower. Their 7-3 victory over the Iowa Cubs was powered by a remarkable 17-hit performance. Alika Williams’ four-hit game and Henry Davis’ two doubles were key in leading the offense. Their continued strong performances in Triple-A suggest promising developments for the Pirates’ future.

Thomas Harrington’s performance for the Altoona Curve was impressive, as he threw 5.2 scoreless innings and struck out five while keeping the Erie Sea Wolves at bay. His strong outing helped secure the Curve’s 3-1 victory. The game’s decisive moments came in the ninth inning, with Yoyner Fajardo hitting a crucial triple and Charles McAdoo driving in a run with a sacrifice fly. Harrington’s continued development is a positive sign for the Pirates’ pitching depth.

The Greensboro Grasshoppers dropped a 6-4 decision to the Asheville Tourists. 2022 first round pick Termarr Johnson belted a homer to center with two outs in the ninth, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback after starter Derek Diamond surrendered six runs in the first three innings.
