The latest Manchester City transfer news as EFL manager makes admission

Portsmouth manager John Mousinho has expressed interest in re-signing Manchester City midfielder Alex Robertson for Fratton Park. Robertson, a former Manchester United youth player, had a successful loan spell with Portsmouth last season, helping them secure promotion to the Championship. Mousinho believes Portsmouth are leading the race for Robertson’s signature, despite interest from Everton.

Mousinho stated, “From our perspective, we’ve positioned ourselves as well as we can. We’ve done all we can on our end.

“With Alex and Manchester City, it’s likely we’ll wait until mid-to-late pre-season to understand their plans for him. It wouldn’t be surprising if Alex is considered for their first-team preparations, and their decision may come later.”

According to The Portsmouth News, Portsmouth are eager to secure the Australian midfielder in the Championship, following his impressive loan spell last season. The 21-year-old spent two years in Manchester United’s youth system before joining Manchester City. As an Australia international, he made 23 appearances while on loan at Portsmouth last season.
