Connor Goldson has been seen with the Rangers squad as they prepare to face Birmingham City, according to Football Scotland.

Football Scotland shared an image on their website on 23 July, showing Connor Goldson boarding a plane with his Rangers teammates. Goldson has been linked with a move away from Ibrox this summer and was rumored to have traveled to Cyprus recently, with Aris Limassol reportedly close to signing a defender.

Rangers Review’s Derek Clark reported on 23 July that the 31-year-old was undergoing a medical, and colleague Joshua Barrie also anticipates his departure, though the exact destination is still uncertain.

Connor Goldson was seen with the Rangers squad ahead of their match against Birmingham City, despite expectations of his exit. James Tavernier is rumored to be close to a move and hasn’t played in pre-season, while Todd Cantwell, also linked with a move, has been sidelined due to minor injuries.

If Goldson were on the verge of a transfer, he might not be traveling with the team to face Birmingham City. The photo, which includes new goalkeeper Liam Kelly, is likely from July but could have been taken en route to the Netherlands earlier in the month.

If Goldson did travel to Cyprus on 21 July, he could feasibly return to join the squad shortly after, particularly since Aris Limassol has acknowledged that signing the defender is proving challenging.

It remains to be seen whether Goldson’s presence with the squad dispels the speculation about his move or his supposed medical in Cyprus.

If he is fit, he will likely stay involved with the team until any potential deal is finalized, similar to Cyriel Dessers, who has been linked with an exit but has participated in pre-season matches.

It appears to be an opportune moment for Goldson to find a new club, much like Tavernier, but until any official announcements are made, the situation remains fluid.
