Hull FC has endured a difficult 2024 season, but they are beginning to take steps toward rebuilding for 2025 following the appointment of John Cartwright. Reports now suggest that the club has identified a star half-back as a potential signing.

Prior to the 2024 campaign, Hull FC brought in New Zealand hooker Nu Brown to play in the halves, but this arrangement was short-lived due to Brown’s immediate release on compassionate grounds.

Since then, Brown has returned to the NRL, and Hull FC has brought in KR player Ben Reynolds on loan. However, a clear pairing for John Cartwright’s team in 2025 has yet to emerge.

However, Jenna Brooks of Sky Sports has now reported that the club is pursuing NRL star Jayden Sullivan, who would require a substantial £180,000 salary.

According to Matt Shaw of Rugby League Live, Asiata is set to earn £220,000 and would hold one of the club’s marquee player positions, making Sullivan their second marquee player.

The Black and Whites are poised for a new era, with John Cartwright officially appointed as head coach on a three-year contract. Cartwright, the former head coach of the Gold Coast Titans and current assistant coach with the Brisbane Broncos, was announced earlier this month.
