Following a triumphant season with the UFL-winning Birmingham Stallions, running back Ricky Person Jr. has reached an agreement with the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seattle Seahawks’ strong running game has been crucial during their successful playoff appearances in 10 of the last 14 seasons. This trend continues under new head coach Mike Macdonald and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb.

As reported by KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, the Seahawks have finalized a deal with running back Ricky Person Jr. from the Birmingham Stallions. While details on a corresponding roster move are pending, the team faces the task of creating space on their currently full 90-man roster.

Person entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent from North Carolina State, where he amassed 1,979 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns during his college tenure. Initially signed by the Baltimore Ravens, he was subsequently waived.

Following his NFL stint, Person joined the spring leagues, beginning with the Stallions in the 2023 USFL season and continuing into the 2024 UFL season, both of which culminated in championships for the team. Although he only recorded 14 carries in 2023, Person made a significant impact in 2024, amassing 297 rushing yards and six touchdowns, along with 150 receiving yards. Notably, he played a pivotal role in the Stallions’ UFL Championship victory, achieving over 100 yards in the game last Sunday.

Person faces a competitive challenge in the Seahawks’ crowded backfield, joining talents such as Kenneth Walker III, Zach Charbonnet, Kenny McIntosh, and George Holani, another undrafted rookie from Boise State. Seattle has also brought in undrafted signings TaMerik Williams and Kobe Lewis, adding depth to their roster.
