St Helens will be missing four of their likely starting 13 for the next two games due to injuries and suspension. The injured trio might be out for up to six weeks.
St Helens will be without Morgan Knowles (suspended), Daryl Clark (foot), Lewis Dodd (arm), and Mark Percival (Achilles) for their next two games, with the injured trio potentially sidelined for up to six weeks. This adds to the club’s injury crisis, which already includes long-term injuries to Jack Welsby and Jonny Lomax’s suspension.
Morgan Knowles’ two-game ban was confirmed by the Match Review Panel, while Paul Wellens provided updates on the injuries to Dodd, Percival, and Clark at the Magic Weekend media day, as reported by the St Helens Star.
St Helens will face Wigan Warriors on Saturday at Elland Road but will likely be missing several key players due to injury and suspension. The only positive for Saints is that Wigan’s Harry Smith is expected to miss the match, as he will attend a disciplinary tribunal following his red card over the weekend.

The news about Lewis Dodd’s injury was somewhat anticipated, as he had exited the field during St Helens’ win over Salford. Paul Wellens had indicated after the match that Dodd would undergo scans for what he described as a “bit of an arm injury.”
The scans revealed “elbow ligament damage,” and Wellens confirmed that Dodd will be out for “four to six weeks.”
Regarding Daryl Clark, Wellens had initially reassured fans after Clark passed a head injury assessment (HIA). However, photos circulating on social media showing Clark in a protective boot led Wellens to confirm that the situation was worse than initially thought.
According to The St Helens Star, Wellens stated, “Daryl has to get assessed and a proper x-ray done later, but we suspect there might be a fracture in the foot. Based on the information we have, we’re looking at a potential recovery time of four to six weeks.”
With Welsby, Lomax, Dodd, and Clark all unavailable, St Helens’ spine will face a significant challenge against Wigan. This leaves Moses Mbye and Harry Robertson as the primary options from the win over Salford Red Devils.
Wellens commented, “It’s quite ironic that we were missing a lot of our pack, but our spine was intact. Now that we’re getting our pack back, we’re having to shuffle around the spine.”
