Stevenage are reportedly trying to finalize the signing of Jake Young, a striker currently with Bradford City and formerly of Swindon Town, this summer.
Jake Young, 23, started his senior career at Guiseley before joining Sheffield United in 2019. His stint with the Blades was brief, leading to a move to Forest Green Rovers, where he made 62 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing 2 assists. This form earned him a move to Bradford City.
Young struggled to make a major impact in his first season with Bradford, managing just 12 appearances and four goals before a loan to Barrow, where he failed to score in 17 matches.
His breakthrough came in the first half of the 23/24 season with Swindon Town, where he linked up with Charlie Austin and Dan Kemp. Young excelled, scoring 16 goals in 25 games, including four in a 6-0 win over Crawley Town. He was recalled by Bradford City in January but made only five appearances in the latter part of the season due to injury.
According to Alan Nixon, Young might reunite with Dan Kemp at Stevenage this summer.
