Troy Fautanu, the offensive tackle from Washington, is gaining recognition in NFL circles. He is scheduled to visit the Jacksonville Jaguars tomorrow for a top-30 visit, according to a report by Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.
In addition to his previously reported visit with the Bengals, Troy Fautanu, a projected first-round pick, has also met with the Ravens. Furthermore, he is expected to undertake future top-30 visits with the Steelers and Eagles.
Fautanu has been a full-time starter at Washington for the past two seasons, notably earning first-team All-Pac-12 honors in 2023 while blocking for Michael Penix Jr. His standout performance during the 2023 campaign has propelled him into the first-round conversation for the 2024 NFL draft. Fautanu’s speed and athleticism have garnered praise, and standing at six-foot-four and weighing 317 pounds, he possesses the physical attributes necessary to excel as an NFL offensive tackle.
Joe Alt from Notre Dame is still expected to be the first lineman off the board. However, Troy Fautanu will likely be competing with other prospects such as Taliese Fuaga from Oregon State, Olumuyiwa Fashanu from Penn State, and JC Latham from Alabama to be the second offensive tackle selected in the draft.
Given the widespread need for offensive tackle depth across the league, it’s not surprising that Fautanu, a product of Washington, is generating significant interest from NFL teams. Apart from the Ravens, all of the teams linked to Fautanu are currently slated to pick in the teens or early 20s. While it may be challenging for him to crack the top 10, Fautanu is expected to hear his name called during the first night of the draft.
