Kicker reports that VfB Stuttgart is making significant progress in their efforts to replace Sehrou Guirassy, who is set to join Borussia Dortmund.
The club has initiated discussions with potential candidates. One name that has emerged is Augsburg striker Ermedin Demirovic. While Demirovic is interested in moving to Stuttgart, Augsburg’s asking price of approximately €25 million is currently beyond Stuttgart’s budget.
Another option under consideration is RB Leipzig’s André Silva. Although a transfer fee of €12 million is manageable, Silva’s annual salary of around €6 million poses a challenge for Stuttgart, as it would disrupt their wage structure.
However, Stuttgart must also be cautious about potential departures in other areas of the squad. Chris Führich, who has a release clause valued at €22 million, and Silas, who has previously drawn interest from Premier League clubs, could still leave the team.
If either player departs, Stuttgart sees Hoffenheim’s Jacob Bruun Larsen as a potential replacement. Larsen, who has previously worked with head coach Sebastian Hoeneß at Hoffenheim, spent last season on loan at Burnley. Stuttgart would, however, face competition from Fulham, West Ham, and Crystal Palace for his signature.
