It has been a significant recruiting weekend for both Auburn football and baseball programs. All paths seemed to converge at Auburn late this week, as both teams added new commits and transfers to their rosters.

Head coach Hugh Freeze and the football coaching staff started things off on Friday by securing the commitment of 4-star offensive lineman Broderick Shull. Ranked as the #20 offensive tackle in the 2025 recruiting class and the #6 recruit from Oklahoma, Shull made his announcement just a week after completing his official visit with the Tigers.

The offensive tackle chose Auburn over Nebraska, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M. He had an official visit to Nebraska but committed to the Tigers before his planned trips to the Texas schools. Shull is the fifth offensive line commit in Auburn football’s 2025 recruiting class and the 13th overall commit.

Meanwhile, Auburn baseball head coach Butch Thompson added two players from the NCAA transfer portal: Lucas Steele and Eric Snow.

Transferring from Samford, Steele is a versatile switch hitter who can play both catcher and outfield. Over two seasons with the Bulldogs, he has achieved a career batting average of .280, with 29 home runs and 112 runs batted in. An Alabama native, Steele played high school baseball at Hoover before his college career and has several connections to the Tigers.

“Auburn has been a part of my whole life,” Steele told Auburnundercover.com. “We grew up Auburn fans. I have been to Auburn football games and baseball games. My brother-in-law (Richard Fitts) actually pitched at Auburn. That’s where he and my sister met. There’s another connection.”

A few hours after Steele, former USF infielder Eric Snow also committed to Auburn. Hailing from Forsyth, Georgia, Snow started 55 of 56 games with the Bulls as a freshman and 43 of 46 games last season, batting .258 with nine doubles, one home run, 19 runs batted in, and 21 runs scored.

These two are excellent additions to the Auburn baseball team, which has lost several players to the transfer portal after the 2024 season.
