College star to bank windfall despite Texas snub

The Texas Longhorns quarterback has an ideal situation.
Arch Manning will not be discouraged by the news that he will spend the entire 2024 NCAA season on the bench.

The Texas Longhorns quarterback was told unequivocally by his head coach that Quinn Ewans will be their first-choice starter, leaving him frustrated as he waits his turn.

Manning was heavily recruited after high school, creating a difficult situation for the Longhorns, as Ewers will return for the 2024 season.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian was left in doubt about Ewers’ status as their main man for the time being after speaking extensively about his potential.

“Quinn is our starter. “I don’t think Quinn was a finished product yet,” Sarkisian told Inside Texas.

“And I believe there is still plenty of room for growth and improvement in his game as he enters his third year. I believe he will benefit from his experience and maturity.

Manning, the nephew of NFL stars Peyton and Eli Manning, can now extend his eligibility for another year because he redshirted. And Sarkisian mentioned his promising quarterback as one for the future.

“I think Arch has a very bright future. We are very fortunate to have him on our roster. Sarkisian added, “He has great leadership skills and a great skill set.”

A silver lining for Manning

Despite already getting benched, Manning still has the opportunity to cash in on his promising career.

Many expect him to eventually break into the NFL when he graduates from the University of Texas and he has already built up a lucrative profile, which could see him earn millions before even playing.

Despite playing little last season, Manning cracked the top five in Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) valuations, with a NIL valuation of $2.8 million, according to ON3.

Manning will most likely have earned around $6 million before becoming a starting college quarterback, despite not having fully realized his massive earning potential.
